How to Reset Your Password in Outlook
Overview
This guide walks you through resetting your Outlook password when you are locked out or have forgotten your credentials.
Prerequisites
- Access to your company email recovery address
- Your employee badge ID for identity verification
Steps to Reset
Step 1: Open the Login Page
Navigate to https://outlook.office365.com and click "Can't access your account?"
Step 2: Verify Your Identity
Enter your work email address and complete the multi-factor authentication prompt. You may receive a code via SMS or authenticator app.
Step 3: Set a New Password
- Your new password must be at least 12 characters
- Include at least one uppercase letter, one number, and one special character
- Do not reuse any of your last 5 passwords
Step 4: Confirm the Change
After setting the new password, sign in to Outlook to confirm it works. Check that your calendar, contacts, and mailbox sync correctly.
Troubleshooting
